Perry honors Bobcats at state Capitol

Grand jury returns 72 felony true bills
HEMPSTEAD - The Waller County Grand Jury, January Term of 2008, in the 506th Judicial District Court and the June Term of 2008, in the 155th Judicial District Court, have considered the cases brought before them for the months of April, May and June and have returned 72 Felony True Bills:

Watermelon Festival Contestants
The 20th Annual Watermelon Festival Royalty Judging and Luncheon was held at The Secret Garden Tea Room on Saturday, June 21. Queen contestants are Cheyenne Annoot, daughter of Mike and Jennifer Annoot, attends Hempstead High School in 12th grade; Lindsey Qualls, daughter of Brad and Jena' Qualls, attends HHS in 11th grade; and Brittany Thibadeaux, daughter of Lee and Cynthia Jefferson, attends HHS in 11th grade. Princess contestants are Velma Sands, daughter of Donihue and Sandra Sands, attends Hempstead Middle School in 7th grade; Alyssa Brook Contreras, daughter of Mark and Crystal Contreras, attends HMS in 7th grade; and Kristin Reyes, daughter of Isreal and Tammy Reyes, attends Waller Junior High in 7th grade. Duchess contestants are Kaylyn Contreras, daughter of Martin and Anna Contreras, attends HMS in 6th grade; and Roy Te'zia Boone, daughter of Tebetha Boone, attends HMS in 6th Grade. Little Miss Contestants are Malyah Tardy, daughter of Christopher and Maegan Moreno, attends Hempstead Elementary School in Kindergarten; Madison Montgomery, daughter of Ervin and Stephanie Montgomery, attends HES in 1st Grade; and Alahnna Schmidt, daughter of Jason and Jennifer Schmidt, attends HES in Kindergarten. Little Mr. Contestants are DreVonte' Green, son of Mabisha Stubblefield and Ondre Green, attends HES in 1st grade; Joseph Williams, son of Joey and Amy Williams, attends Hempstead Elementary in Kindergarten; and Reid Karisch, son of Chad and Tami Karisch, attends Community Christian Academy in Kindergarten.
